SFO International: Air France / KLM Lounge Terminal A Review
This was my first lounged accessed through Business class tickets. Usually I will use my Priority Pass membership (free through the Hilton Honors American Express Business Credit Card, Learn More->), but this time I accessed the lounge with the airline ticket. This lounge would have been available to me as a Priority Pass member, so I didn’t need to have business class tickets for this luxury.
Entering the lounge (Terminal A)
When you exit security checkpoint, make a left and follow the signs to lounges. It looks like Air France had a lounge on that level, but it was closed so the directions said to go up the stairs. Then you will see the China Airways lounge. Pass that and turn right and walk down a strange hallway that felt abandoned.
Just scan your boarding pass and, if needed, your priority pass card or app.
Bonus Grab & Go
This is a first for me, but they had a grab and go so if you are in a hurry, you just pick what you need.
Food & Drinks
The food was ok. Not amazing, but it is definitely enough to get full. They had the following (6p):
- Penne & meatballs in red sauce and mushrooms
- Vegetable soup
- Vegetarian sandwiches
- Turkey sandwiches
- Meat & cheese tray
- Baguettes with butter or jam
- Green salad with cucumbers and tomatoes
- Fruit: honey dew melon, pineapple and grapes
- Greek yogurt with honey and berries
- Chex mix
- Brownies
- Pound cake
- Wine, champagne, beer, Johnny walker red, beefeater gin, Jack Daniel’s and baileys Irish cream
- Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, sprite, coffee, water, and sparkling water.
Overall it was a comfortable mix of food and alcohol. This is the temporary lounge, so I’m not sure if this is typical of this airport lounge.
Sit and Relax
I was not impressed with the seating or space. It was crowded and not comfortable. Hopefully when the new lounge opens in the summer it will be much better.

Work and WiFi
There wasn’t anything more than a tall long table along the wall for working. I would not consider this as being work remote friendly.
I forgot to check the WiFi. Sorry!
Overall thoughts
Since this is a temporary lounge, I’m not surprised the space wasn’t great. Overall it was better than spending $30 for a burger in the main airport. I look forward to trying out the new lounge on my next international trip.
